Starting my own website and learning how to code / 03/02/2025
This is my first blogpost, and it will probably be on the shorter side. I will use it mostly to talk about the purpose of my website, including the goals I have in mind.
Whenever I saw indie websites for personal usage I always felt a level of envy, or admiration. With how modernized current-day social media is, seeing one's creativity on their very own website was always a breath of fresh air. While it is true that on big social media platforms you decide how your feed looks, it doesn't compare to the grand-scale of customization options that indie websites have. Platforms like Instagram, Twitter and even Tumblr feel so limited when it comes to self-expression. The lack of personality frustrates me, thus drawing me closer to designing and creating my very own space.
Another huge part of my reasoning is to stimulate my brain. Ever since I had to drop out of school I have noticed a decline in my capabilities when it comes to writing, speech and learning new things. With the primary goal of my website being to be able to blog and express myself the way I want to, it also forces me to learn more about coding, improve my writing skills and nourish my creativity. I look at it through a very positive lens.
My website will be a slow process, with new additions every once in a while, but I prefer it in this 'low-key' kind of way.
